First NYS Camp

We met the rest of the National Youth Squad on Wednesday morning after rigging my sail and board ready for the first session on the water. My dad left back to home as this was residential so we all stayed together as a squad in Portland House next to the sailing academy. We did two full days on the water in lightwinds on Wednesday and Thursday practicing our speed and board handling skills to improve ourselvers on the racecourse. On Wednesday we saw a dolfin while we were training which was great. Friday was the last day of the camp and it was quite windy. We did boardhandling in the morning and speed in the afternoon. Which was great fun and very windy. This was only the first camp of the season and I’m looking forward to the rest of them this coming winter.
