This was held in Sopot, Poland, after a LONG car journey we arrived ready for the event. We decided to drive to Poland, taking the 15kg board plus 2 rigs (1 spare) meant that flying was not practical. When traveling overseas to a windsurf event, safe arrival of kit is essential, damaged equipment means I cannot race. We did some pre-event training, eating lots of crepes & ice cream during the build up to the event. Before I had even launched on the first day, my sail ripped. I quickly taped this up and got out to the start line, ready for the first race. I managed to finish 9th, even after a rather chaotic morning. The rest of the event went well with light winds in the morning, and then a sea breeze coming in most afternoons. On the last day, the top 10 race seperatly, the rest of the fleet do a final race together, I managed to get 2nd and was very happy with this as I was leading the fleet most of the way round. Overall I finished 24th in The European’s I was happy with this – it was my first year racing in the RS:X class.
